Altering the length of the stem of the fan when you are creating your fan will give you a different effect to your set. In my opinion, a short stem, V shaped fan is preferable to longer stem fans. The longer the stem of your fan, the less density you will have at the base of your set. This isn't to say that longer stem fans are wrong, it's just down to personal preference.
In this overlay you can see the difference in density at the base of the set. Longer stem fans take up less space and this would be fine for a client with a lot of natural lashes but not ideal for sparse lashes.
